Roots

Leslie Redhead was born on July 24, 1972 in Murray, Utah. She was raised in a tight-knit family by a devoted mother. Throughout her youth, her mother focused Leslie’s art talent. Leslie spent many hours in quiet study learning her craft. She still paints in the early morning, continually experimenting.

She graduated from Brigham Young University with her Bachelor’s degree in 1995. Pencil sketching, figure drawing, and painting continued as the focus of Leslie’s endeavors. She moved to the Northeastern United States in 1998 where she began intense exploration.

Leslie takes inspiration from the everyday. She works to expose the inner character of place and person. She creates impressions and memories for her clients and friends. The art reveals small and significant details of their world.

Currently, she is living in Victoria, BC, Canada with her husband and her two beloved children. Leslie works early in the morning in the pre-dawn or late at night. She sits under warm lights applying washes of color with care and consideration. She diligently works on her mastery of painting.
